As the world needs to become more sustainable, wood is again becoming a more common building material. The new office building at Södra kajen will be built with a wooden frame, wooden facade and plenty of wood in the interior. The building will be one of the first Zero CO2 certified buildings in the world and Sundsvall’s first climate-neutral office building.

Together with Skanska, Frosting carried out an idea and concept work to identify key arguments, find a name and develop a communication strategy. Skanska had actively sought a local agency to bring the conditions and history of the region into the work.

The building, named Stella, will be a beacon for sustainable construction, as reflected in its logo.

The prospectus is characterized by the building’s emphasis on wood, as well as the location that encourages sustainable travel to and from the office. With the stone city right next door and Sundsvall’s new travel center around the corner, there are all opportunities to walk, cycle and take public transport to Stella.

As tenants, Skanska is looking for companies that take the climate issue seriously. Stella is the building for companies and organizations that need modern office space in central Sundsvall, in a building that meets the requirements of an ambitious sustainability policy.

Jonas Nilsson was project manager, Anders Björk AD and Håkan Norberg copywriter.
