Text correction

Proofreading involves reading through the text to find factual errors, check technical terms and assess whether the text says what you want it to say in a way that suits you or your organization.

  • Is the text correct? Are the facts and technical terms correct?
  • Does the text achieve its purpose? Does it say what you want it to say?
  • Does the text have the tone you want?
  • Do you have any other comments on word choice or style?
  • Do you find spelling or typing errors? Mark that too.

Design proofreading print and web

When it’s time for design correction, go through the designed proposal carefully and see if there is anything you want to change. Look at the big picture and assess it. A web often has a sample text that you can look beyond. It should not be proofread at this stage. Have your say on the following:

  • Color and shape.
  • Layout.
  • Typeface
  • Is there room for everything?
  • Do any pictures look good?
  • Is any content missing?
  • Does it feel ok when you click around the website?

We often send a so-called wireframe as a link when a website is to be proofread based on the design created. In that link, you as a customer can write directly to our art directors who created the design. This is your chance to propose changes. Once the look of the website has been approved by you and the web developer starts work, new requests for changes to the design and layout will go beyond the quote. They are then charged separately on an hourly basis.

Final correction

Once the design and text are ready and approved by you, it’s time for final approval before the file goes to the printer or the website goes live.

For printed material, both text and design must now be 100% accurate. Check one last time that all text is included and that everything looks right. Frosting is responsible for ensuring that the print file meets the printer’s requirements. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the final product to be delivered from the presses.

When you do the final proofreading for a new website, click around on the link sent to you and check that all internal links work and that you end up in the right place when you click. If Frosting published all the text, this is also the first time it is presented in full. Fact-check and proofread it. Once you are happy with everything, we will launch the website and open the door to your visitors.
