The rule of thirds<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Divide the image into nine equal parts using two horizontal and two vertical lines. When composing the image, place the main subject at any of the four intersections of the lines. This often creates harmony and attraction.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Horizontal lines often add calm to an image, vertical lines can make the image feel powerful, while diagonal lines add speed and drama. These lines can be actual, or imagined between the objects in an image.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Just as a diagonal can lead the viewer into an image, so can the relationship between foreground and background. Placing one object in the foreground and another in the background creates depth in the image.<\/p>\n
